Rain is forecast south of the Yangtze River, and haze will dissipate in north China over the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Thursday.
Parts of Chongqing Municipality, areas to the south of the Yangtze, as well as Guizhou Province in southwest China will be hit by torrential rain on Thursday night and Friday.
Parts of Jiangxi, Hunan and Guizhou provinces will see rainstorms with precipitation of up to 70 mm.
A cold front will hit north China from Thursday to Sunday. Parts of Inner Mongolia and northeast China will see occasional rain.
Haze and fog lingering in parts of north China and areas along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers will drift away on Friday morning thanks to the cold front, the NMC said.
The NMC warned places expecting heavy rainfall to take precautions against floods and landslides.
